We are very proud to have been able to donate one of our Big Stainless Steel Lanterns to 1st Battalion, The Rifles for their "Eternal Flame" project.
The lantern is mounted in front of their barracks near the plaques to all fallen soldiers. A candle will burn continuously until all the soldiers from the battalion have returned home safely.
The lantern shows families and friends of those serving in Afghanistan that their thoughts are with them while they serve overseas.
The beautiful inscription reads:
"The Flame serves to remind us of the commitment that the Riflemen of this regiment are currently making overseas.
It will be extinguished when the last soldier of the regiment returns to this base."
We were incredibly moved when the Eternal Flame project was featured on BBC TV Spotlight News last night in tribute to the recent loss of one of their soldiers.

New Logo
We are very excited about the launch of our new logo! We felt that as the brand has evolved it was time to create a new fresh look! We hope you like it too. As always we would love to hear your feedback and if you would like to, please email us on feedback@nordichouse.co.uk
Christmas
Our next challenge is that we are hoping to be able to offer a gift message and wrapping service for Christmas 2010, we just need to work out which items we would feasibly be able to wrap, as some of our products are a little too big!
Our new Autumn/Winter collection is already taking shape and will include as always, some fabulous limited edition items not readily available in this country, so don't forget to buy it when you see it!
New Delivery Options
There are some exciting changes happening as far as our delivery service is concerned. We are now able to offer free express delivery on all orders over £50! Orders placed before 12:00 will usually be delivered the next day and at the latest the day after. Orders placed after 12:00 will be dispatched the following day.
We are also looking looking to introduce some fabulous new specified delivery options, hopefully within the the next 2 weeks, so watch this space!

While the summer solstice is celebrated all over the world, it is particularly important in Nordic countries where, on the longest day, the sun dips below the horizon for only a short while and the sky never properly turns to night. These long summer days and long dusky evenings are the time for contemplation, a time to recharge the batteries and relax outdoors.
The unique huge handmade outdoor candles look wonderful bunched together as a mixed-height group. They come in black as well as white and there are six sizes in this outdoor only range. The largest candle is 50cm high and it will burn for 280 hours.
