Style the table for the festive season

Create a simple yet beautiful Christmas tablescape this year with naturals, hits of texture and Scandi-style finishing touches.

Laying the table for Christmas provides a lovely styling moment in addition to dressing the tree; it’s the ideal opportunity to bring yet more beautiful touches. In many Scandinavian houses, the dining table is at the heart of the home; it’s where people gather, share stories and create new memories – and no more so than at Christmas time.

Start by dressing your table with natural linen – either opt for a tablecloth or choose a runner with placemats, allowing the beauty of a wooden table to still shine. Look for delicate details, like our pom pom trim on our tablelinen, which provides a delightful touch.

Placemats, placenames and even a wine finer… make your festive table really special this year

Use linen napkins to add to the sense of occasion, making a feature of them with mini decorations tied on with natural twine. Pop in a sprig of fresh foliage to boost the natural feel.

Use pieces of fir, holly or eucalyptus for a central garland, running the length of your table. Weave in a few hero baubles and votives, but make sure there’s enough space for a selection of glasses per guest and room to put any serveware down on the table when it’s time to relax and enjoy your festive feast.
