Welcome guests

Prepare your home for visitors over the Christmas period. Sometimes it’s those small touches that show just how you much care, and your home at its most inviting.

Getting ready for Christmas guests will bring a real sense of excitement this year, especially as we haven’t been able to share our homes with friends and family perhaps as much as usual. Add a few Scandi style touches, focusing on creating a relaxed, simple yet homely space, where everyone can enjoy the moment and create memories.

If you are hosting a lot of guests swap dining chairs for a bench to fit more guests around your table

Start by styling a cosy guest bedroom, adding layers to natural bed linen with a soft throw. A few bedside touches – like a lantern, reading books and sprig or two of festive foliage – will create a lovely welcoming touch. Make space for guests’ clothes too – our clothes rail is a great solution for an empty corner.

Make breakfast time relaxed, served in the kitchen on bar stools

Think about how you can use your home to entertain throughout the day: where can you enjoy a festive fika together? What about breakfast? Do you have enough seating, glassware or crockery? Could a side table be handy next to the armchair? A little planning will make your Christmas extra special.
