Why we love sheepskin
You won’t find a classic log cabin, or even a Nordic spa, that doesn’t embrace sheepskin in all its comfort and glory. It’s easy to see why it's an essential part of Scandinavian culture that has been used for millennia.
The natural properties of sheepskin are perfectly formed to help keep the home cosy throughout bitterly cold winter months. There’s also pleasure to be found in the natural colours and textures of sheepskin. From short and off-white to long-haired deep greys, the styles available blend with contemporary interiors as well as rustic or traditional settings.
As nature intended
- The good news is that, as a natural material, sheepskin is hypoallergenic and is even recommended for babies because it’s so soft, safe and warm.
- Unlike the modern trend for replica or faux sheepskin, the original version is entirely plastic-free, so there’s very little carbon footprint or non-biodegradable material caused by sheepskin
Slow and sustainable living
- Sheepskin is naturally long-lasting, making it a great investment for your home. We believe in slow and sustainable living that includes stunning and practical pieces, responsibly sourced, and designed to last a lifetime.
- All of our premium grade sheepskin is ethically sourced and a by-product of farming that would otherwise be incinerated or sent to landfill. It is cleaned, tanned and dyed with natural products, then hand-finished by a family-owned firm in Denmark.
So whether it’s a rug by the bedside, a cushion on a cosy armchair, or seat pads at the breakfast bar, our sheepskin is an easy choice: it looks good, feels great, and aligns with our deeper values.
