Alfresco dining inspiration

It’s officially summer! My favourite season… although, I think I might say that about all the seasons, since they all have their own beauty! However, summer in Cornwall, where I live and where Nordic House is based, is such a wonderful affair with the glorious light and the lovely long evenings – there’s nowhere quite like it.

So to celebrate and following on nicely from my last post about outdoor living, I thought this week it would be a good idea to share with you some beautiful and inspirational ideas for enjoying dining al fresco. One of the highlights of my summers every year is the ability to sit round the table outside, laughing with family and friends until late, making the most of the fresh air and listening to the gentle lapping of the sea. Creating the perfect outside dining area involves a little bit of time and creativity, but it’s always SO worth it!

Eager to create your own perfect alfresco dining space? Here are some fabulous products from the Nordic House shop…

We were instantly taken with these simple glass carafes. Sourced in Denmark, their no-nonsense styling is reminiscent of a retro bistro! Fill with iced water, mint leaves and lime for a thirst-quenching and attractive drink.

Stripes are a quintessentially Scandinavian fabric, so this table runner is a great way to conjure up that clean look, indoors or out.

Team your table runner with these matching table linens – perfect for creating that relaxed Scandi feel!

For some truly pared-back, relaxed living, this wonderfully uber-rustic wooden bench will be useful addition to any space. Made from reclaimed wood, each bench is slightly different.

Trendy industrial style zinc candle lantern with heaps of Scandi charm! These fabulous Danish zinc lanterns are just thing the line your dining area with. They are perfect for use indoors or out.

These Danish beauties are the perfect marriage of aesthetics and practicality. Perfect for serving nibbles, olives or sushi for relaxed dining under the stars!

I hope this post leaves you suitably inspired! For more ideas, please do visit my Alfresco dining Pinterest board and why not share your pics with us on our Facebook page – we’d love to see how you make the most of the great outdoors this summer!
