Introducing our new furniture collection
When we started Nordic House back in 2008, we focused on accessories, and we were very pleased to quickly gain a reputation as the UK’s leading supplier of beautiful Scandi lanterns and candles. But over the years, our collection (and our team!) has grown, and this year we are particularly proud to be introducing what I would call our first grown-up furniture collection! On our buying trips I always see many very beautiful pieces of furniture and I’ve been itching to start bringing these back to the UK for a while now. So we decided to go for it – along with taking on more warehouse space, we’ve also opened our very own office overlooking the water, and so we have plenty of space and a wonderful team available on hand to ensure that our customer service is as dedicated and attentive as ever!
So this week, it’s with great excitement that I can share with you some of our pieces from our very first furniture collection! All these pieces are on sale now, if any take your fancy, just click on the images to be taken straight through to the product page on the shop.
This small tree table is just utterly gorgeous. Gently carved, each one is unique, its natural shape and beauty preserved. As these are made from a natural product, each wooden top has a different pattern and shape, as each tree slice is different. The legs and sides are painted a soft smooth white. Perfect as a little side table or simply as decorative piece.
Sometimes the simplest things are the best, which is certainly true when it comes to these delightfully unassuming wooden chairs. With a nod to traditional design, yet with an unfussy contemporary paint finish, they will instantly generate easy-going style in your kitchen or dining room. These chairs come in a choice of two quintessentially Nordic colours – Nordic White or Scandi Grey.
It might be small in size but this little chair is certainly big on style – a perfect and versatile piece of furniture for your bedroom with impeccably tailored good looks. With immaculate cotton upholstery, which includes a button back and smart piping, it comes in a choice of two colours – Lime Yellow or Mint. The gently curved legs remain in natural wood to complete the look.
You’ll be sitting pretty on this handsome high stool, whose natural rattan seat and retro design will blend beautifully into any kitchen. These bar stools are available in Natural or Black and are a must for creating an impact at your kitchen counter. The delicate metal legs give it an elegant profile, while the mid-century shape is bang on-trend.
Banish the washday blues with this vintage-style wooden drying rack, which will bring a sense of days gone by to your laundry room. The rack is held open with two simple aged metal hooks to give plenty of space to air your clothes – simply unclip them and the whole rack folds flat for easy storage.
The elegant addition of two sliding side drawers makes this coffee table a practical yet unbelievably handsome addition to your sitting room. Made from sustainable mango wood, it has fixed trestle-style legs for a casual yet sophisticated look.
The combination of comfy upholstery and wrought iron marks this chair out as a real winner – the perfect way to enhance a hallway, sitting room or bedroom. The seat is upholstered in natural cotton and there is a separate matching back cushion that leans against the chair’s criss-cross metal back. Decoratively turned legs complete the design, lending a pleasingly traditional vibe.
Clear the clutter with this oh-so-useful storage box, which is the perfect place to stow toys, shoes, bedding – the list is endless! Its wheels make it supremely versatile as you can move it wherever it is needed. Stylish detailing includes black metal vintage-look hinges, industrial-style castors, gentle distressing on the edges, and a soft painted finish that allows you to appreciate the natural texture of the wood-grain beneath.
I found these wonderful decorative storage trunks in Sweden and immediately loved their vintage vibe. They come as a set of three, which means there’s no end to their uses, from stowing paperwork and clothing to photos and keepsakes. Each one has a domed lid, just like a treasure-chest, with handles on the sides and the top, and bands of contrasting aged metal.
This is just a few of the pieces in our latest collection – there’s plenty more on offer, from tealight holders, to tableware, in the New Arrivals section of the website – have a look!
