The perfect Easter table
Easter in Scandinavia is all about family and food. These just happen to be two of my favourite things as well, coincidentally! There’s nothing I enjoy more than entertaining friends and family at home, and catching up on all their news over a beautiful long lunch. One of the most joyful parts of the whole experience is creating a welcoming atmosphere for my guests, and of course, this all starts with a stunning table scheme. Laying the table has become something of a ritual for me – choosing the flowers, the tableware, the linens and the finishing touches (plenty of candles!) to create a memorable setting is something I truly enjoy and take pride in.
Fortunately at Nordic House I am lucky to have a huge selection of tableware and accessories to help me create my scheme each year! And this year is no exception – we have some wonderful new pieces that can accompany our classic favourites to help you lay the perfect Easter table. Here are some ideas to inspire you… (click on the pictures to go through to the shop).
This delicate glass bottle, topped with such pretty bird detailing on the stopper, looks so beautiful simply displayed. Perfect for use in so many ways, and especially lovely as a water carafe.
We are smitten by these dear little bunny egg cups, which make a delightful addition to breakfast, lunch or brunch, and are just perfect for use at Easter!
We fell in love with the simplicity of this white porcelain egg tray. Sourced in Denmark, its Scandi roots are clear to see!
A team favourite already – this clever brunch board is especially designed for your boiled egg and soldiers! Made from natural untreated birch wood, each wooden board has rounded edges and a perfectly sized hole for holding your boiled egg.
There are so many uses for these adorable mini white bowls, from serving nibbles, sweets and snacks to displaying dainty dried herbs or salt.
Just so pretty! These asymmetric white bowls complement our handled bowls, above, and are ideal for all manner of purposes.
These stunning pieces will more than earn their place on your dining table, giving you pleasure at every mealtime, day after day. Our Swedish tableware is the perfect marriage of aesthetics and practicality because the plates have an upstanding rim that will prevent any spillage.
This very stylish water carafe has been designed in Denmark with an extra special feature… The lid opens and closes automatically and ensures the ice cubes or lemon slices stay in the carafe as the water is poured! It fits into most refrigerator doors and is suitable for both hot and cold drinks.
Sourced in Sweden, this beautiful large square bread box has been hand-crafted from untreated natural birch wood. The stylish design includes a removable slatted top and a handle on each side of the box.
This rustic slate cake stand has a stylish contemporary Scandi feel. Perfect for serving tapas, sushi and ideal for cupcakes, biscuits or sandwiches!
This slate and bamboo serving board is one of those supremely practical pieces of kitchenware that is as useful as it is good-looking. This board is ideal to use as a platter on which you can bring cold meats and cheese to the table.
Turn back the clock by setting your table with our vintage-style table linen, which is finished with an immaculate crocheted edging. This beautifully crafted pure white cotton runner is designed to lie across the table, where its decorative border is shown off to stunning effect. Combine it with our matching tablemats and napkins for simple Scandi-style table settings with lashings of old-world charm.
We have fallen in love with the pleasingly rounded lines of this tumbler, just perfect for serving juice at breakfast or water at the dinner table. Our hand-blown glassware range has a lovely rustic style thanks to the inherent variations in the glass and the natural distributions of the bubbles within it.
Our ever-popular egg-shaped candles with a pale yellow yolk inside are perfect for the breakfast table at this time of year!
I do hope these products have given you inspiration for your Easter table! I wish you a wonderful Easter with your family, with plenty of time to relax and unwind – as well as enjoy some good food and wine!
